So now that we know why we need to manage stress, (Struggling with Stress Part I), it’s important to find a practice that helps us find the ‘off switch’.
Finding a practice is important to keeping stress levels down and balance in our lives. When we find a practice that resonates with us, it is important to take long deep breaths (vs. short and shallow), think about something besides your to-do list and all the stuff going on in your head.
By keeping up with this practice, it helps to keep the hormones leveled out. When the hormones are in check, it can lead to focus which can deepen into peaceful and energized states of mind. This leads to balance and can have a transformative effect which can lead to new understandings in your own life.
Whether it’s yoga, meditation, a bike ride, a walk in your neighborhood, a hike on a greenbelt or whatever it is, find what works for you. Your body will thank you.
Today is the youngest you’ll ever be, so why not?
